Despite the renewed cancellation of the Oktoberfest 2021 due to Corona, some Oktoberfest steins were still produced. Version
The “Wiesnkrug 2021” comes as a stone jug made of fired clay for 1.0 liter content. The jug shape is also very traditional. The typical Bavarian cylindrical shape is called “Keferloher”
Handmade in Germany
The tankard is made by hand. It is“decorated” and“knurled” by hand (color band on the lower rim). The handle is“drawn” by hand and the lid is cast on by hand using hot molten pewter.
And that’s why they all look similar, but are still unique.
Krugdekor
As every year, the official Oktoberfest poster Oktoberfest poster is used as a mug decoration. Decorated opposite the handle, it is baked in an extra step (and thus made durable).
Poster motif
On the 2021 poster, the meadow heart takes center stage. It is framed by hop tendrils, two beer mugs and a pretzel as well as a curved banner with the words“Oktoberfest Munich“.
Pewter lid
The high-quality pewter lid appears with relief decoration. Just like the jug decoration, the motifs change every year.
This year,“Michael Schottenhamel” can be found on the pewter lid. Born in the Upper Palatinate, he started out with a wooden stall at the Wiesn back in 1867. Today, the Schottenhamel tent is one of the absolute attractions of the Oktoberfest.
