This antique beer stein was handmade by the renowned Girmscheid company around 1970 and impresses with its imposing size of approx. 45 cm in height and a capacity of 2 liters. The tankard impresses with its strong relief, which is decorated using an elaborate patina wiping technique, giving it a unique, antique charm.
The detailed hunting scene shows majestic wild animals such as capercaillie, stag and roe deer. In the foreground of the jug is a pair of wild hares. The slogans in relief to the left and right of the handle read: “Hunter’s blood is good, hunter’s lust lifts the breast”, underlining the traditional hunting theme of the piece.
