Every year, the Black Forest Clock Association (VdS) holds a competition to choose the most beautiful clock of the year. In the Black Forest Museum Vogtsbauernhöfe in Gutach in the Black Forest, all Black Forest cuckoo clock manufacturers put their clocks up for election in 2007. Visitors to the museum voted for the most beautiful clock of the year. This is the winning clock 2007.

This very large clock has everything that makes up the beauty of a Black Forest farmhouse. The clock’s construction is true to the details of a Black Forest farmhouse, with a typical shingle roof and partially visible brickwork at the base of the building. The fire bell on the roof is characteristic of the often isolated farmhouses. In an emergency, this bell can be used to call for help quickly. What at first glance appears to be ornamental actually has vital functions for a Black Forest farmstead.
Many Black Forest farmsteads today offer a wide range of leisure activities. Farms with horses or ponies are particularly popular with families. This clock therefore shows such a pony farm, with all the associated elements of a traditional farm.In addition to the ponies, there is a beautiful wayside cross, fountain, handcart and a hidden deer on the side between the trees.The bell ringer, the central moving figure of the clock, stands at the side of the staircase and when the clock strikes, she raises her right arm and pulls the rope.
