Product information “Annual limit 2003 Mars”
The original of this replica is in the archives of KING-WERKE in Höhr-Grenzhausen/Germany.
Modeled around 1890 by the well-known modeler Peter Dümler, this jug depicts famous knights from the time of the Crusades, in particular the First Crusade (1096-1099).
They are Raimund IV of Toulouse (far right), Balduin I of Edessa, Boemund of Taranto (center) and Gottfried of Bouillon.
This First Crusade ended in 1099 with the conquest of Jerusalem, which subsequently remained under Christian rule for almost 100 years.
In 1187, at the Battle of Hattin, the city fell to Saladin, the Sultan of Egypt and Syria. Saladin is also depicted on the jug (far left). Subsequently, after 40 years under Islamic rule, Jerusalem came back into the hands of Christendom.
The jug is topped with a pure pewter facetted lid.
It is the twenty-fourth jug in the KING limited series with a strict edition of only 2500 pieces worldwide. Each jug is individually numbered by hand.
