Product information “Silent Night Chapel and Bavarian Santa Claus”

When the song “Silent Night” was sung on Christmas Eve 1818 in a small chapel in Oberndorf (near Salzburg), nobody would have expected that this song would one day be sung in many different languages around the world.

Every year, a Christmas mass is held on 24.12. at 5 clocks, in which this song is sung in different languages.

To commemorate this tradition, which is now more than 200 years old, we have put the chapel on the jug as a relief motif.

The deep blue cobalt glaze enhances the atmosphere of the holy winter night.

The other relief motif shows a Bavarian Santa Claus with a dash of humor. As you can see, Santa Claus is “just a man” who, in addition to his work, also takes a little time out and fortifies himself for the tasks ahead with a cool drink from a beer mug. The open coat gives us a glimpse of the traditional costume he wears under his Santa Claus robe. The Santa hat has given way to a red Tyrolean hat with a chamois beard.

So the jug is like life: Even in quiet and contemplative moments, you don’t need to lose your sense of humor.

This jug “of the extraordinary kind” is not only a great decoration and a collector’s item. You can also enjoy a cool blonde beer from it.

Handcrafted and hand-painted with a genuine pewter lid, this jug is limited to 10,000 pieces worldwide.

Height: approx. 28 cm

Contents: 3/4 liter
