The black glaze and the grey and silver-coloured painting provide a very nice contrast to the three-dimensional Viking figure in the “grotto” and the helmet lid.
The Viking swings his battle axe threateningly, the helmet lid is decorated with Nordic symbols.
The signs on the sides are painted silver.
