Product information “Traditional trouser jug 3/4 l, painted with pewter lid”
The precursor to what we know today as “Bavarian lederhosen” was the so-called “Cu-Lotte” in the 17th century. These were knee-length pants made of silk or leather for the nobility. The leather for the nobility was made from deer or roe deer, while the rural population at the time made their leather from sheep or goats. In the age of Romanticism and the accompanying return to old values, the preservation of traditional costume was increasingly promoted. In 1853, the Bavarian King Maximilian issued a decree to “promote popular sentiment, especially traditional costumes”. The development over the years proves that lederhosen never go out of fashion. As with this mug, lederhosen should not only have patina, they MUST. This includes long-worn pieces and pants that are so stiff that they can literally “stand on their own”. And only when the matt surface becomes greasy through wear and tear do the trousers really deserve the name “Krachlederne”. For some years now, classic lederhosen have once again become a cult item for the younger generation in Bavaria. As you can see, lederhosen have a long tradition and have never gone out of fashion. Just like our mugs. So it makes perfect sense that there has to be a lederhosen-shaped stein. Use this mug to dress up a beer in Bavarian lederhosen and enjoy! Lederhosen mug, 0.75 liter Hand-painted, with Bavarian coat of arms decal burned into the mug, with lid made of fine pewter Height: approx. 22.5 cm
