Product information “Bavaria jug 0.5L stone gray with pewter lid”

In honor of the Free State of Bavaria, with the lion coat of arms in full relief as the main motif, this mug is a “must” for every collector and beer lover.

The text “God with you, land of the Bavarians” is a quote from the first verse of the Bavarian anthem.

The royal castle of Neuschwanstein and Munich’s Marienplatz in full relief represent the famous Bavarian history and way of life as side reliefs.

This jug was decorated using the so-called old German “stone gray” decoration technique: After the cobalt-blue glaze color has been applied and carefully wiped away from the raised relief motifs, the jug is fired in the kiln.

The jug lives from the play of colors of the clay shards and the cobalt glaze.

Alternatively, we also offer this jug in the so-called “cobalt stained” version: After the cobalt blue glaze paint has been applied and wiped away from the raised relief motifs, the jug is fired in the kiln for the first time. The jug is then hand-painted in color and then fired a second time.

Both variants have their incomparable charm and it is a matter of personal taste which variant you find more appealing.

If you would like to compare this jug with the “Cobalt Painted” version, please take a look at item # 393/BZ.
